Za’abeel Hall 1, Auditorium 1

Overview

Addressing challenges, corrections, and reviewing the past, present, and updates on the future, of antibiotic use and misuse

The Antibiotic Use and Misuse conference is a highly anticipated new MEDLAB track that features engaging expert led sessions aiming to address the challenges currently being faced concerning antibiotic use within the region, and globally. Alongside this, the event will discuss the latest developments, innovations, and the corrections, necessary to meet the critical need of tackling antibiotic misuse. Covering an extensive range of topics, specialists are not only guaranteed to be educated and bridge gaps in knowledge, but will also have an unparalleled opportunity to liaise with the leaders in the field, all whilst gaining important CME credits.

What are the main topics covered in the event?

  • National and Global Approaches to Antibiotic Use Misuse
  • Updates on Resistance & Emerging and Reemerging Pathogens
  • Advancing Infection Control

Benefits for Attending:

Upon completion of this activity participants will able to:

  • Review the key and current national and global approaches to antibiotic use enabling sustainable, effective and appropriate use of antimicrobial agents
  • Recognise both emerging and reemerging resistant pathogens to increase awareness and improve handling of antibiotics
  • Discover advanced infection control methods and alternatives to antibiotics in infection management to help reduce antimicrobial resistance in the region
  • Evaluate antimicrobial stewardship efforts to advocate for better practice in regional healthcare establishments
  • Analyse the main challenges concerning antibiotic use and misuse within the region to better tackle these obstacles and to enable best practices in preventing microbial resistance
