Overview

Transfusion safety is at the heart of healthcare professionals’ concerns. From donor to patient, many challenges can arise to ensure compatibility of transfusions. That is why, during this workshop, we will tackle this topic by presenting guidelines and practices in different countries.

Three speakers are invited to share their experiences:

Speakers

France Pirenne
Professor in hematology and transfusion

France Pirenne is an M.D., Ph.D. and Professor of transfusion/ hematology – University of Paris Est Créteil - France. She is the Head of the Transfusion Service of Henri Mondor Hospital and leads the National Frozen Rare Blood Bank. She is also since 2017, the president of the French Society of Blood Transfusion (SFTS). Together with a research career as Head of a team at INSERM in Transfusion and Red Blood Cell Diseases department, she is part of different international committees such as the scientific committee of the American Society of Hematology (ASH).

Anne Heiligenstein
Medical bioliogist

Anne Heiligenstein, pharmacist biologist, graduated from Lyon 1 University in 1998 and started as an assistant at Lyon Hospitals for 2 years. She did her post-doctorate at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, from 2000 to 2004. Back in France, she managed the laboratory of Immunohematology – delivery of blood products at EFS Alsace (Etablissement Français du Sang – French Blood Services) and was the director of Alsace region’s Immunohematology department from 2005 to 2015. Since 2015, she is the director of a laboratory and manager of the Immunohematology department at BIOGROUP, for the whole organization of 950 private laboratories.

Seidou Konate
Director

Dr Seidou Konate is a specialist in transfusion immunohematology. He is the Director of the National Blood Transfusion Center of Ivory Coast and President of the French Speaking Africa Network for Blood Transfusion (RAFTS). He is also board member of many organizations (SIHIO-TS, GCBS, Expert committee from OMS, ICBS, AfSBT). He obtained many awards such as the Ivorian National Order of Merit and officer of National Services Order. He won the Ivorian Quality award in 2002 and the excellence award from BENIANH Foundation in 1999.

Lise Dibon 
International product manger

Lise Dibon is the product manager of Manual Range at DIAGAST since 2015. She has 18 years of experience in promotion and improvement of DMDIV. She is a specialist of M-Trap Technology.

Inana Namet
International product manager

Inana Namet is the international product manager of High-Volume Automation at DIAGAST since 2017. She holds a MSc in Applied Immunology from UPMC, Paris Sorbonne University and a Specialized Master in Biopharmaceutical Management from the ESCP-Europe, Paris, France.
