What is Better Stands?

The Better Stands Programme aims to unite and encourage exhibitors, along with their appointed contractors, to move away from disposable, single-use stands at events, in favour of re-usable or recyclable structures. A disposable stand or booth is a space-only/raw space build that is used only once. They are typically constructed from poor quality raw materials onsite which are then demolished post-show and sent to either landfill or burned.

We believe that by moving away from the use of disposable stands we will improve the ease, safety, and sustainability of the exhibitor experience at our events. We would like you to join us in moving towards the future of events.

Why Better Stands?

Move away from single-use stands

In short, it is a move away from disposable, single-use stands - these are space-only builds that are used only once. They are constructed onsite, often from poor quality material, demolished post-show, and sent to a landfill or burned.

Switch to reusable stands

Instead, switch to reusable stands, where all core elements are reusable. This will reduce waste and improve the ease, safety & sustainability at Arab Health, leading to a better exhibitor experience - while lowering costs with a stress-free build and breakdown.

What are the benefits?

Working together to lower our carbon footprint during the event

Huge opportunities for cost savings compared to disposable stands

Keep your designs and customisations - simply meet material regulations

Significant waste reduction with safer, cleaner & more efficient working environments

Work with stand contractors offering readily available reusable solutions

Showcase your own commitment to sustainability

How do you define a
Better Stand?

We classify all stands into four categories - Disposable, Bronze, Silver, or Gold -depending on the particular elements that are reused or recycled.

All elements of a particular category must be reused or recycled in order to achieve that classification. If the stand does not reuse all of the elements in the Bronze level, it is classed as Disposable.

Reusable:

  • Stand structure & walls
  • Platform
  • Furniture & equipment
  • Lighting

All space only stands are independently verified at the end of the event to determine their individual level.

Introducing the Medlab Middle East Better Stands Program

We believe it is important to recognise and celebrate exhibitors who are making an effort to reduce their environmental impact. During the event our panel of judges will review all stands and select the top four sustainable stands within the following categories:

  • 50sqm
  • 50 - 100sqm
  • 100sqm
  • Pavilions: 100sqm

To be eligible for the award, your ‘Space Only’ stand must demonstrate a commitment to sustainability through the use of high quality, re-usable materials, reducing waste, conserving energy and incorporating other sustainable practices. Terms and conditions.
