Lab Sustainability Awards
A shoutout to all the sustainability in lab pioneers!
Medical Diagnostic Laboratories in the UAE are encouraged to participate in the “Sustainability in the Lab” awards taking place live in-person at Medlab Middle East 2023. Three winners (Gold, Silver, Bronze) will be announced during the last session of the “Sustainability in the lab” conference on 6 February.
Why do you need to participate?
Climate change is a global emergency that goes beyond national borders
A need to adopt good environmental practices in the labs
Commitment of leadership is needed to empower the culture of sustainability in the lab
Laboratories shall take an initiative “Towards Zero Carbon”
Lab Sustainability Awards and the SDG
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, were adopted by the United Nations and world leaders in 2015. By 2030, the SDGs aim to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.
The Lab Sustainability Awards encourages action on a range of sustainable laboratory areas and link to one of the 17 SDGs. By participating in the Lab Sustainability Awards, you and your team will be directly contributing to helping achieve the SDGs.
How you can be a part of the awards?
Evidences (such as projects, innovation, video link, photos, KPIs, etc) need to be submitted as separate files. A maximum of five attachments are allowed with a maximum single file size of 4MB per attachment.

Participating labs can submit a maximum 6 slides presentation describing the below sustainability practices in the lab:
Energy conservation
Waste reduction
Water conservation
Green chemistry
Green procurement
Sustainable practices in logistics/supply chain
Deadline to submit
All entries must be submitted before 25 January, 2023
Judging
Top 3 labs will be pre-selected as top 3 finalists and will be presenting for 5 minutes each at the
Sustainability in the lab conference taking place at Medlab Middle East 2023 on 6 February 2023.
